Unlike the United States, the majority of lotteries in Europe are still being run by state or city governments. Some of them offer large cash prizes. Others divide the tickets into fractions. Customers place a small stake on a fraction and the rest of the ticket cost is split between the state or city government and the sponsor.<\/p>\n
